Having your Solar PV installed by an MCS accredited company is one of the criteria to be eligible for export payments. This means you are paid for excess solar generation which is sold back to the grid, rather than some of your solar generation being wasted when you are not able to use or store it.  Also, if your technology is eligible for a government incentive, which Solar PV and Battery Storage currently are, you will need to be able to provide MCS Certification to claim this.
